The Alwaleed Fund
In 2002, the Foundation received a generous donation from His Royal Highness Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulazíz Al-Saud of one-million, three-hundred and sixty-thousand dollars. It was Prince Alwaleed's wish for VIZE 97 to gradually distribute these funds for purchase of instruments and specialized medical equipment for children’s oncology, old people's homes and purchase of medical technology required for the treatment of malignant tumors and serious illnesses.
Based on this wish, the Foundation donated one-million crowns to the University Hospital in Motol last year for equipment and the completion of the Spinal Unit of the Rehabilitation Clinic, as well as pledging another one-million crowns for the purchase of Navigation equipment for the Neurosurgery Department. Another recipient last year was the Old People's Home in Haje, which the Foundation donated a sum of CZK 123,000* for new fixtures and fittings for its residents.
