{"id":14531,"date":"2016-11-24T14:51:12","date_gmt":"2016-11-24T13:51:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vize.cz\/en\/?p=14531"},"modified":"2017-03-07T14:55:09","modified_gmt":"2017-03-07T13:55:09","slug":"vaclav-havel-academy-otzenhausen-germany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vize.cz\/en\/vaclav-havel-academy-otzenhausen-germany\/","title":{"rendered":"The V\u00e1clav Havel Academy in \u00d6tzenhausen, Germany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The<\/strong> <strong>V\u00e1clav Havel Academy<\/strong><strong>, which will be incorporated into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eao-otzenhausen.de\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\"><u>the European Academy of \u00d6tzenhausen<\/u><\/a><\/strong> and will offer courses, will open in the spring of 2017. The Academy will provide weekly thematic courses open to the public that will also include an event with a selected artist or politician. The courses will be provided in English, German and French.<\/p>\n<p>Many European educational organizations will be involved in the Academy. Its goal will be to educate young people in European history, European institutions, etc. Today\u2019s multi-cultural world requires us to understand the context of events and we cannot focus only on our own country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>University president and prominent Danish journalist <\/strong><strong>Peter von Kohl<\/strong>, who came up with this idea, met with <strong>V\u00e1clav Havel<\/strong> in the late 1990s. In Strasbourg, he told V\u00e1clav Havel about his idea to name this institution after him.
