Commemoration of Architect Jan Kaplický in Prague Crossroads

Hundreds of people came to Prague Crossroads to bid their farewell to Jan Kaplický, a distinguished architect of Czech origin. Those who offered their condolence to Kaplický’s family included Dagmar Havlová, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the VIZE 97 Foundation, his close friend Pavel Bobek, architect Eva Jiřičná, actor Bolek Polívka, politician Jiří Paroubek, and others. Mrs Havlová read a letter from President Václav Havel, who was ill and hospitalised in the Motol University Hospital. The letter was also his condolence to the bereaved family, and a future message for daughter Johanka; in this letter, the National Library by Jan Kaplický’s architectural design has already been built.
