Dagmar Havlová handed out a VIZE 97 Prize at International Television Festival Zlatá Praha
Dagmar Havlová handed out on the New Scene of the National Theatre a Prize of the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97, which is presented every year during the International Television Festival Zlatá Praha. The 14th Award of the Foundation VIZE 97 went to the creators of a television production of an opera performance of The Makropulos Affair in an original directorial conception by David Radok.
Commenting the Prize, Ms Havlová said, “The Makropulos Case is my favourite Čapek work. It is about a singer, Elina Makropulos, who obtained an elixir that gave her eternal youth and immortality, but did not give her happiness. I think that the performance and the interplay of the creative trio of Čapek, Janáček and Radok perfectly capture the essence of this idea.”
Together with a symbolic cheque for 30,000 crowns, the Prize was handed over by Ms Dagmar Havlová, President of the Board of Trustees of VIZE 97, television director Jakub Kořínek and record producer Kamila Zlatušková. Dagmar Havlová congratulates the makers and wishes them many other creative successes!
