The 3rd Nicholas Charity Bazaar was supported by a large number of visitors
A pleasant Christmas atmosphere was once again evoked under the roof of the Prague Crossroads on 5th December. The charity bazaar was attended by a total of ten non-profit organisations – the Dagmar and Václav Havel VIZE 97 Foundation, the Barrier Account Foundation (Nadace Konto Bariéry), the Good Will Committee (Výbor dobré vůle), the Mamma Help Association, the INKA Foundation, the Helppes Association, the Czech Broadcasting Foundation (Nadační fond Českého rozhlasu) with its Firefly (Světluška) project, The Saint Charles of Boromej Home (Domov sv. Karla Boromejského), the People in Need organisation and the Association of Organisations for the Blind and Sight Impaired.
Each organisation sold beautiful products made in protected workshops or social institutions. Some of them also presented their activities with practical examples. The Havels, who attended the bazaar in the afternoon, were therefore able to try, for example, glasses which replicated various sight impairments.
The Nicholas Bazaar was also supported by the singer Aneta Langerová and the actor and presenter Marek Vašut.
At the VIZE 97 Foundation’s stand, people were not only able to purchase wonderful products from the protected workshops of, for example, the Home of the Holy Family, the Bohemia Patchwork Club or the Logo citizens’ association, from the hands of well-known personalities, but also to receive their autograph.
The visit by Saint Nicholas, the Devil and the Angel pleased the children in attendance who received a “sweet” present in return for singing a song or reciting a poem. The church also rang to sound of Christmas carols which all of the visitors were pleased to join in singing.
We would like to thank everybody who supported the 3rd Nicholas Charity Bazaar with their visits and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
