Another successful year of the Nicholas Charity Bazaar!
On Wednesday 5 December, hundreds of people came to Prague Crossroads to visit the eighth annual traditional Nicholas Charity bazaar of the Dagmar and Václav Havel VIZE 97 Foundation. Visitors could purchase various gifts from protected workshops at desecrated St. Anne’s Church and thus contribute to individual non-profit organizations.
The entire event was moderated again, with enormous grace and charm by Mrs. Dagmar Havlová and Mrs. Kateřina Hrachovcová – Herčíková, who contributed to the relaxed and friendly atmosphere with their commenting. Children’s corners were prepared for children, where they could decorate gingerbreads or colour a Christmas picture for which they received a sweet reward. Furthermore, Marta Kubišová, Táňa Fischerová, Jiří Strach, Kateřina Brožová, Bára Nesvadbová Táňa Vilhelmová and Jan Potměšil also contributed largely to the increased sales of the stalls of VIZE 97 and others.
In the early evening, it was time for the performance of Lukáš Prchal’s MikroChor together with the Okamžitý Filmový Orchestr conducted by Varhan Orchestrovič Bauer, who played and sang a series of untraditionally conceived Christmas carols. During the course of the day, performances were also given by the Cantina choir and VIZE 97 Foundation scholar, violinist Ondřej Lébr, who was accompanied by his wife, violinist Jana Ludvíčková. The performances of the artists helped create a magical pre-Christmas atmosphere.
Then naturally the climax of the event for children was gift-giving from the hands of St. Nicholas, the angel and the devil, who traditionally handed out sweets, in reward for a song or poem, from Ferrero Česká, which apart from OSA, the Metamorphosis florist and Zeman delicacies is the traditional partner of the Nicholas Charity Bazaar.
