Closing Ceremony of the 16th International Oral History Conference at Prague Crossroads
On 7th-11th July 2010, the 16th annual International Oral History Conference was held in Prague, under the attendance of more than 500 delegates from 57 countries around the world, including representatives of all continents. It was one of the largest business conferences in the field of social and humanitarian sciences in the CR over the last 20 years at minimum.
The closing ceremony was held at Prague’s Crossroad on the last day of the conference, including an audiovisual recording of a greeting from President Vaclav Havel, who supported the conference, moreover, the Czech Association of Oral History prizes were awarded for the best grammar school and university student work in the field of oral history. During the course of the evening, music by composers Antonín Dvořák, Leoš Janáček and Bohuslav Martinů was performed by opera singer Dana Krausova and accompaniment. Furthermore, the professional historical dance group Hortus Gracie performed a sample of Gothic and Renaissance dances as well.
