Dagmar Havlová attended the opening of the 22nd International Music Festival in Czech Krumlov

On 19 July 2013, Dagmar Havlová attended the opening of the International Music Festival in Czech Krumlov as a special guest of the BMW Group Czech Republic, which was the main partner of the festival. Mrs. Havlová has been using a BMW brand car for her work activities for years, which is why she accepted the invitation from the management of BMW to attend the opening concert. The program of the evening featured the singing recital of the Latvian mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča. The opening concert was attended by a number of Czech personalities from the cultural and business sphere, including current and former politicians. Together with the festival director, Jaromír Boháč, Dagmar Havlová remembered the visit of Václav Havel, w ho attended the festival in 2009, when his friend, the renowned New York soprano Renée Fléming performed. Among other roles, Renée Fléming took on the role of Dvořák’s Rusalka at the Metropolitan Opera and she sung the famous aria from Rusalka “Měsíčku na nebi hlubokém” (Song to the Moon) at the festival in Czech Krumlov back then and a few months later again at the concert in commemoration of the 20th anniversary since the fall of the Velvet Curtain “Už je to tady” (It’s Here), which the VIZE 97 Foundation held at the Prague Crossroads.
