The Havels read to children at Prague Crossroads

An event at which well-known figures read aloud popular child books, thus trying to encourage parents to read to their children every day, was held at Prague Crossroads as part of ‘All Czechs Read to Children’ project. The whole evening was launched by the Havels’ reading; while Mrs Havlová read short story On a Pencil by Paulo Coelho, President Havel picked his book The Pizh’duks. Host Michal Horáček also welcomed Mr Viewegh and his wife, film director Jan Hřebejk, singer Aneta Langerová or javelin-thrower Barbora Špotáková to the stage. The whole evening was accompanied by Petr Hapka’s piano.
