The Jaroslav Seifert Award goes to Václav Havel
This year, the Charter 77 Foundation presented the Jaroslav Seifert Award at the Prague Crossroads. It went to the dramatist, poet and prose writer, President Václav Havel, for the eighth volume of his Letters (Spisy), which contains speeches and other texts from 1999 – 2006, the Briefly Please literary collage and his latest play Leaving. The award and the symbolic cheque, which President Václav Havel donated to the VIZE 97 Foundation, was presented by the Chairman and Manager of the Charter Foundation, František Janouch.
The award-winning eighth volume contains more than eight hundred pages and it is published by the Torst publishing house.
