The second Strings of Autumn concert– Alina Pogostkina
The original performance of the violinist Julie Fischer from Germany was cancelled due to illness, which was a great disappointment for her fans who had planned to attend her concert at the Prague Crossroads on Sunday 19th October 2008.
However, the organisers invited the excellent young violinist from Russia, Alina Pogostkina, who made up for the change in the program in no small way. The twenty-five-year-old violinist has already won a number of awards; for example, she won the famous Sibelius Competition in Helsinki and she has received prizes at competitions in Freiburg, Brussels or Indianapolis in the USA.
Alina Pogostkina was accompanied by the Württembergisches Kammerorchester. She played beautiful classical works by Mozart or Janáček.
Festival-goers can look forward to two concerts by Lenka Dusilová, where she will perform with Beata Hlavenková and the Clarinet Factory (21st and 22nd October 2008, 7:30 pm, the Prague Crossroads).
