Václav Havel received in memoriam award of Eugene Kogon
On 22nd of February 2013, Václav Havel received in memoriam in Hessian Königstein award of the German publicist and author Eugene Kogon. Václav Havel found out about this award in his declining years and he agreed with the acceptance, but through the Czech ambassador, due to his health difficulties. The foreign minister Hans-Dietrich Gensher became ill, who was supposed to perform in the role of a laudatory and the place of award was also renovated the catholic Haus der Begegnung (House of Encounter), from where, even during the totalitarian regime, they tried to support the south-European church and exile. Mr. Genscher gave a great laudation. The award was taken by the representative of the Czech ambassador in Germany, mrs. Eva Dvořáková, which was later delivered to Dagmar Havlová. Dagmar Havlová thanked the organizers and the Czech ambassador in writing for the financial gift, which will be designated to the Foundation of Dagmar and Václav Havel VIZE 97.
